A Love Story

Our Story

Jab We Met

Our love story starts in the most romantic corner of the world: our office. Mukesh remembers their love blossoming over time, spending their days talking and laughing so much that very little work was done; in fact in the beginning of their relationship Mukesh would go home and work so that he could come back to the office and talk to Rashi!

Rashi remembers it differently. She remembers Mukesh suspiciously sitting next to her usual spot in the office and striking up conversation, and was utterly convinced that Mukesh was trying to flirt with her. Mukesh (to this day) insists that he was just trying to be friends with her. Whatever the circumstances or intentions, the two of them ended up talking and laughing from the start of the day till the end. And the rest, is history.

The proposal in Santorini

The Proposal

One of the biggest shocks for Mukesh in starting this relationship with Rashi was her lack of punctuality; her `Indian timing` as it is lovingly called. When choosing to propose he kept this in mind. After making all of the reservations he waited for Rashi to be ready for the 'photoshoot' that they were heading to in Santorini. He believed that he had learned well -- he told Rashi they had to be ready for the photoshoot an hour before the actual time.

And yet, half an hour passed and she was not ready, an hour and still not. Mukesh stared at the setting sun through the window, wondering if they would have to reschedule. Then she arrived; she looked so beautiful that he could not summon himself to be even slightly upset; not as they took the taxi to the blue domes of Santorini and he watched the sun setting out of the taxi; not as he proposed in mounting darkness, fighting back tears as he read his speech; and not even when the latter half of their photoshoot had to be taken with the flash on. He had learned the real lesson: that some things are worth waiting for.

Getting Here

Travel & Stay

The Flight

Flying to Lucknow (LKO)

There are no direct flights from the UK to Lucknow. Most guests will connect via Delhi (DEL), Mumbai (BOM) or a middle-eastern hub such as Doha (DOH), We strongly advise you to avoid flights going via Saudi airports.

Tip: It is recommended to book a connecting flight from origin:London to destination:Lucknow. If you are booking a domestic flight within India to arrive at Lucknow, be wary of domestic baggage allowances (typically lower than international).

Airport Transfers

Chaudhary Charan Singh Airport (LKO)

The airport is approximately 16 km from the venue — around 20-30 minutes by car.

Arriving on 3rd December onwards? We will arrange transfers from the airport to your hotel.

Arriving earlier? Uber and Ola both operate in Lucknow and work reliably from the airport. A pre-paid taxi counter is also available in the arrivals hall.

Getting Around

Uber, Ola & Taxis

Uber works in Lucknow and is the easiest option — download it before you leave home. Ola is the local equivalent and often slightly cheaper; worth having both apps.

Auto-rickshaws are plentiful for short hops around the city but we strongly recommend taxis unless you're looking for an authentic experience.

Practical Tips

Visa, Cash & Connectivity

  • e-Visa required — UK passport holders must apply online before travel at indianvisaonline.gov.in . Apply at least 2 weeks before departure.
  • Currency — Indian Rupees (₹). Exchange at the airport or withdraw from ATMs in the city. Cards are accepted at hotels; carry some cash for smaller purchases.
  • SIM card — Pick up an Airtel or Jio tourist SIM at the airport arrivals hall for affordable data and calls. Alternatively, check roaming rates with your UK provider.

Survival Guide

You're in for a treat. This is a multi-day, multi-event celebration — think of it as a festival dedicated to two people you love. Just show up with an open heart, eat everything, and enjoy the ride. We'll guide you through the rest.

Dress code details will be shared closer to the date — keep an eye on this page for updates. As a general rule: casual Indianwear in hues of yellow for Haldi; blingy or cocktail attire for Sangeet; traditional Indianwear for the Shaadi ceremony.

Yes, abundantly. Indian celebrations typically offer a wide spread of vegetarian dishes alongside non-vegetarian options.

Lucknow's Awadhi cuisine is renowned for being rich, fragrant, and aromatic rather than blow-your-head-off spicy. Think slow-cooked kebabs, biryanis, and kormas. Bring a sense of adventure — and maybe some Rennies.

Your presence — especially if you've travelled all the way to Lucknow — is more than enough of a gift.

Not compulsory — but highly encouraged. Indian weddings are essentially a dance festival and the energy is infectious, so don't be surprised if your feet start moving on their own.
